Taipei: 8 Way Dumplings

8 Way Dumplings
(Near LongShan Temple)

They sell the best dumplings ever. Served in steam and pan fried dumplings. The pan fried dumplings are not too oily and the vege taste mixed perfectly with the mince meat. You can only regret for ordering too little. It comes with a few different flavours and I personally likes the original ones.

Shilin Night Market, Taipei

A night at Shilin Market Taipei unveils a variety of Taiwanese favourite snacks. Here are some of the all time favourites food of Taiwan .

A must try for 'mee sua' lovers.

The fermented fried toufu smells better than it taste. I think Hongkong ones taste better. As for the "pig blood" soup, you can't really eat it in Singapore. Definitely worth a try.

The infamous big intestine .. to be frank I was too full to sample it after eating so much food

Prince Taiwan Porridge

Prince Taiwan Porridge
Cheong Chin Nam Road
Upper Bukit Timah

If all you need is a bowl of porridge to quench your cravings, this is the best place to go. The sweet potato porridge comes with fine and smooth texture; you can even take bowls of it alone without any dishes. Anyway this restaurant serves free flow of porridge or rice if you prefer.

But of course, for a complete meals these are some of my recommendations. For vege you can try their "fan shu ye" or sweet potato leaves. But my favourites are the salted fish with minced pork meat and homemade tofu. At the price of $6 each it is definitely value for money and their excellent taste sure make you crave for it again. Especially the salted fish minced pork meat will definitely make you pour its gravy onto your porridge again and again. If you like fish, you can try their steam fish. It is served with deep fried "chai poh" which is very appetizing. I tried their fish many times, fresh and served best while hot with the deep fried "chai poh".

Liu San

Liu San
Jalan Anak Bukit, #01-09
Bukit Timah Plaza

Where can you get a bowl of authentic and fantastic Taiwanese "Lu Rou Fan" and "Oyster Mee Sua"? None other than Liu San.

The minced pork is finely minced and well marinated, goes well with the rice. The best part of it is the pickled cucumber which is very much appetizing. The verdict, the best "Lu Rou Fan" that you can ever taste in Singapore. Definely will make you drenched with cravings after you left the place. The "Oyster Mee Sua" also distinctively taste much better than those available out there. The Oyster is big and fresh . . definitely unforgettable. Look at the pictures, it was so irresistable that I forgot to take a picture before I ate it.
